Throughout the year there will be an array of exhibitions, gatherings and festivals in Haute-Savoie, the region where Saint Francis was born in 1567 and where he exerted widespread influence.

To mark this special occasion, the Annecy tourist office, in partnership with the Diocese, is organising short breaks offering visitors the chance to discover the life and work of Saint Francis de Sales through the natural and cultural heritage of our region. Meander along the banks of a canal, take a trip on a lake or visit the historical sites of Allinges and Thonon Les Bains and soak up the history of Saint Francis de Sales, a Doctor of the Catholic Church, and the patron saint of journalists and writers.
