Venetian Carnival
At the beginning of March Annecy makes good its nickname "the little Alpine Venice" with a two-day procession of marvellous costumes inspired by the Carnival of Venice.
This more and more popular event springs from the twinning of Annecy with Vicenza, a town located just 60 kilometres from Venice

Biennial Festival of Spanish Cinema
Every even year in March the biennial festival presents 50 films in 1 week, divided into a retospective and a group of full and short-length films not yet on public showing.

The Lake of Annecy Marathon

The magnificent lakeside setting of this race may help competitors forget for a moment the difficult test they face.

It is organised by the Salesian Athletic Club and brings together many thousands of runners for a full marathon in the morning and a semi-marathon in the afternoon.

International Festival of Animated Films
Every year since 1960 at the beginning of June Annecy is the meeting-place for the world of Animated Films
Presentation and showing of films in competition in various theatres in the town, homages, retrospectives, exhibitions
Giant-screen showings every evening on the Paquier. Entry free.
During the Festival the International Animated Film Market (MIFA) takes place at the Conference Centre of the Imperial Palace Hotel
MIFA offers a meeting-ground for exchanges and negotiation between professionals of the Animated Film Industry from all over the world. It is in fact the biggest international market exclusively dedicated to animated films
For one week the Festival and Market bring together more than 8000 professionals from all over the world and count around 100,000 entries to film-showings and exhibitions.

The Music Festival
This celebration which takes place every June 21 offers musicians and the public a chance to discover the different styles of music on all the stages set up in the old town .

Annecy nights
The historic centre of Annecy with its picturesque atmosphere enlivened by the bistro terraces under the arcades lend themselves perfectly to fun events and celebrations of all forms.
Night shows in mid-July, theme nights with bands of musicians and artists going round the old town, acrobat shows, burlesque theatre organised by Bonlieu Scene National

Chaque mercredi de juillet et août, des organistes réputés viennent jouer les orgues historiques de la Cathédrale.

La Fête du Lac
c' est l’ événement traditionnel majeur de la saison estivale.
Elle a lieu chaque année le premier samedi du mois d’ août.
Un peu d’ histoire : L’Empereur Napoléon III et l’Impératrice Eugénie sont les hôtes d’Annecy du 29 au 31 août 1860, à l’ occasion des festivités pour le rattachement de la Savoie à la France.
La ville organise en l’honneur de leurs majestés une fête de nuit lacustre qui marque l’origine de la traditionnelle Fête du Lac.
Pendant la soirée, au coucher du soleil, les dizaines de milliers de spectateurs rassemblés sur le Pâquier, face au lac, assistent à un gigantesque d spectacle « pyromélodique » qui mêle pendant plus 1 H 30 sans interruption les feux d’ artifice, la musique et le texte, les lumières et les lasers.
La magie de l’eau, de la musique et de la pyrotechnie font de la Fête du Lac chaque été un événement réputé : 40 000 billets d’ entrée sont vendus par avance ( tribunes et pelouses ) tandis que 150 000 personnes assistent à l’ événement depuis les rives du lac, les montagnes environnantes ou les centaines d’ embarcations rassemblées derrière la zone de tir du feu d’ artifice.
